Sponsorship payments can be made in cash, checks or money orders, or using credit cards through PayPal in the Sponsorship section of this web site. NOTE: Business ad sponsors may deduct their ad contribution as a business expense. However, we are not a 501 (c) (3) non-profit corporation.

    Contestant Orientation

Orientation will be held for all interested contestants. It is strongly encouraged that you attend if you have never competed in the Outstanding Teen pageant system before, because we will provide a lot of valuable information about the program and the areas of competition that you are not likely to be familiar with yet.

Parents are enthusiastically invited to the meeting, but they are not required to be there.

We will discuss important background information about the pageant, what the judges look for in each of the competitions and tips on sponsorship fundraising. Additionally, upon request, we will provide feedback to individuals on elements of their competition (e.g., paperwork, talent selections, wardrobe choices, etc.)

   Areas Of Competition

Personal Interview (35% of total score)
Each contestant participates in an individual 8-minute press conference-style interview with our panel of judges. There are typically 5 to 7 judges on a panel. Contestants are questioned on their background as presented on their fact sheet, their educational and career goals, their opinions on current events and social issues, and their interests, hobbies and extracurricular activities. Scoring is based on overall communication skills, including speech, vocabulary and grammar; a confident and charismatic personality, ability to express and distinguish beliefs; attractive and stylish in an age-appropriate manner (no interview suits allowed!) leadership and sense of accomplishment, and knowledge and understanding of her platform issue.

  Talent (35% of total score)
Contestants perform a 2-minute routine of their own choosing. The talent competition provides an insight into the contestant's prepatory and performance skills. Consideration is given whether the contestant's talent selection fits these skills and her personality. Possible talents include all types of singing, dancing, gymnastics, instrumental music, dramatic or comedy monologues, baton twirling and ventriloquism. Phone or e-mail us if you have a question about your talent presentation. Scoring is based on technical skill level, entertainment value, interpretive ability, stage presence and on-stage personality, and total of all elements (music, costume, props, voice, choreography, where applicable.) Did the judge enjoy the presentation?

Evening Wear and On-Stage Question (20% of total score)
This is designed to assess the contestant's beauty, poise, grace and commanding stage presence, as well as for the contestant to make an on-stage statement of her interests, opinions and aspirations in answer to a question selected for her. Clothing should be age-appropriate, i.e., no plunging necklines, or high slits. The contestant is judged as much, if not more, on the answer to the question as compared to her appearance.

Lifestyle and Fitness (10% of total score)
Contestants will be taught a physical fitness routine that is approximately four counts of eight. All contestants perform the same routine individually on stage. Contestants will be judged on their demonstrated level of fitness, dynamic presence and attractiveness, sense of confidence and self-assurance. Can she complete the routine with vitality, energy, spirit and charisma? Does she meet the public's expectation of a titleholder? Recommended attire: capri or full-length leggings and a sleeveless sports top with good support. NO SHORTS.
